Shyamkumar Purvankara, an architect, has made an indelible mark through his innovative practice of traditional, cost-effective, and eco-friendly architecture. His firm was honored by Designer Plus Builder as one of Kerala’s 25 most influential architectural practices of 2023–2024.
Beyond architecture, he is a passionate birder and a dedicated naturalist and citizen scientist, his contributions to platforms like eBird have earned him recognition at national levels. He serves as a resource person for the Forest Department, mentors young birders, and has been a member of the District Panchayath Biodiversity Management Committee.
